Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles
The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV, commonly called the DHSMV) is the state agency that oversees driving in Florida. It issues learner's permits and driver licenses, administers the knowledge and road tests, approves driver education and traffic school courses, and keeps the official driving record used by courts and insurance companies.
Central Florida Driving Academy is certified by the DHSMV to offer behind-the-wheel training, and the department has approved our online curriculum as well. That includes state-approved courses such as DETS, TLSAE, BDI, ADI, and more.
Because these courses are approved at the state level, your completion is reported directly to the DHSMV. No extra paperwork required.
